Alis Mata

Illustrating the Soundtrack of Emotion

Collaborating with the talented Italian singer-songwriter Alis Mata, I've had the joy of translating her music into illustrations. Each cover I create is a visual narrative of her music, reflecting the deep emotions and unique story of each song.

Alice guarda direttamente la luna

For her first EP, I depicted Alis as a portrait holding the moon against a psychedelic pink-purple backdrop. The design aims to capture the ethereal and introspective nature of her music, inviting listeners into her journey.

Alice (Demo)

One of her initial demos, this cover features a girl obscuring her face with a large moon set against a starry purple sky. She loved my previously made poster design and she asked me to adapt it for this cover.

Oleandri

This cover presents a girl holding an oleander, set against a fusion of purple and blue, blending grunge textures with a watercolor effect. I tried to express the mixed feelings of the artist via the background, while the static black and white lineart represents the outside, what can be seen from the outside.

Wafer

In "Wafer," I illustrated a girl sitting at a café, lost in thought, with a wafer in hand and a coffee nearby, while her head explodes into pastel abstractions. It's a visual feast representing the blend of everyday complex burst of emotions and thoughts.

Angelica (Stoccolma)

Capturing a scene from a metro, the artwork for "Angelica (Stoccolma)" shows a girl’s hand gripping a cold heart-shaped strap, with a breaking lace, as the Swedish landscape unfolds outside the window. It's a snapshot of travel, longing, and breaking connections.
